CoA Database & Analysis
CoA Database & Analysis Tools
A central place to understand, verify, and analyze Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) to ensure compound purity and safety.
What is a Certificate of Analysis?
A CoA is a document issued by a laboratory that confirms a product meets its predetermined specifications. For research compounds, it's the most critical piece of evidence for verifying the identity, purity, and concentration of a substance. A legitimate CoA should always be from a verifiable, independent, third-party lab.
How to Read a CoA
- Check the Lab: Does the report name a legitimate, third-party lab? Be wary of "in-house" testing.
- Check the Date & Batch: The report should be recent and correspond to the specific batch number of the product you are researching.
- Verify Purity (HPLC): Look for the High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) result. For most research applications, purity should be >98-99%.
- Verify Identity (MS): The Mass Spectrometry (MS) result should show a molecular weight that matches the expected weight of the compound.
